Stephen Jahns, Luthier
I’m a Nashville-based pickup maker, and I specialize in made-to-order, custom electric guitars built from my own designs.
I was born and raised on the island of Maui, where I grew up surfing and spending my free time building and repairing surfboards for myself and friends around the neighborhood. Working with my hands and shaping things from scratch has always been second nature to me.
After high school, I moved to San Diego and landed a job with Taylor Guitars, where I worked in all facets of acoustic guitar production for over five years. That experience gave me a deep understanding of craftsmanship and what goes into building a truly great instrument.
I later graduated from Nashville’s Guitar Craft Academy and went on to work with Gibson in final assembly quality control and in the finishing (paint) department. From there, I joined master builder Dennis Fano at Novo Guitars, continuing to refine my skills and attention to detail.
Today, I live full-time in the Nashville area and dedicate myself to building made-to-order, hand-wound pickups and custom guitars, using only the finest materials and the highest standards of quality.
